My question is; howcome CS has a PUG bot that has been used ONCE and 2k lost the PUG bot that was used numerous times?

CS has an active ladder, yes, but an active* PUG bot? No.
2k has an inactive ladder, yes, but the bot was being used and was enjoyed by most who played when the teams were on vent and not being rambo.

The 2k PUG bot, from an outside view, appeared to have a positive impact on the 2k community which should have also had a positive impact on CG by bringing in more users and giving CG the ability to say "Hey, we kept a dieing game alive for a little longer and made a few users happy". I know of atleast 5 2k players from various clans that joined the CG website to participate in the PUG.

Anyway, I don't see the benefit of having an unused PUG bot up and running when the resources could be better used on providing material that the community actually uses and enjoys and said resources will most likely bring in more members to CG.

Bring it back IMO :<

The PUG Bots use the same servers the ladders use. Zero resources are wasted in having a PUG Bot provided the ladder is still active.

Usually with pug bot the match servers are used, now that there is no ladder there is no servers so no pugging.

I'm not sure on what happened with the 2142 servers? Whether they are now the BF2 servers or they just got turned off.

Just for some clarification, have the 2k servers and bot gone to BF2 6v6?

For the meantime I believe so, I think there are some problems with running BF2142 and BF2 servers on the same box. Talnoy would know more.

BF2142 Was an idea on CG that didnt really take off due to GA opening the ladder early on the same format.

Cybergamer runs competitive leagues we dont do pub servers thats what we feel is gamearenas/internodes/egn's job.

With a zero activity ladder those resources cost way too much to allocate to a marginally active community. It was a shame to see so many pugs happening but zero matches.

I left them running to see if the community enjoyed the value add service and also to see if it would encourage more teams to form up and play on the ladder but although many players werent even CG competitors it still didnt sway any more activity to the ladder.

As much as we try to stay community focused i have to draw the line between running a competitive league and running pub servers no matter how organised they are.
