GotGames is proud to announce its GGCEVO Call of Duty: World at War competitions which will offer over $4000 in prize money. In 2009, we will see two competitions hosted at GotGames including an invite only division of Professional teams. On top of this, an Open ladder has been launched. Any team can sign up for this competition via the link at the bottom of this news post. In Season 2, the teams that make up the Professional division will be determined by results from Season 1 of the Professional division and the Open ladder results. The bottom 2 teams in the Professional division will be dropped to the open league and the top 2 teams in the Open league will be moved into the Professional division.
The Professional division will be using the CEVO tournament system and most importantly CMN, the best Anti Cheat System in the world and the only way to be certain that you are playing against a team without cheats.
The Professional division will be having all their wars on Sunday nights at 7:30 and 8:30pm. All matches are going to be video casted by Gamestah with their incredibly popular video on demand product GTV. This will mean that you get to watch the big teams such as Team Immunity live in their matches with incredibly entertaining shoutcasting from the team at Gamestah. First place wins an incredible $2500 - a record for an online competition for the Call of Duty series. Second place wins $1000. At 7:30 tonight, GotGames is releasing further news regarding the professional competition. It's going to be the biggest news to hit online COD in Australia, so stay tuned.
The open ladder works on the tried and tested challenge and defence concept. If the defender wins, they get a protected status allowing them two days to challenge someone higher without fear of being challenged. If the challenger wins, they take the defenders' spot. Losers become vulnerable for 2 days, which leaves them open to challenges. In June 2009 the rankings will be frozen and the top 8 teams will move into a finals season. The winner of these finals not only gets a pass into the professional division but $250 in cold hard cash. Second place gets a GotGames Call of Duty 5 server for private use for 3 months and an invite to the professional division.
If you would like to join the Call of Duty 5 Open league please click on the below link and sign up. The competition will be unlocked on the Monday 2/2/2009 for challenges. Until then, challenges have been locked.
