From its inception, GenetiX Gaming's primary goal has been to have fun - unfortunately, we have come to a realisation that the top end of the ladder is anything but. We were having fun at one stage at the bottom of the ladder, yet as we climbed things got a little too serious for a team that never practises. We found ourselves balancing on a fine line between what is legal on the ladder and what isn't - something that all top ten teams will be familiar with. In order to win, you've got to play dirty. I'll admit that we've crossed the line, but I doubt that anyone playing seriously is without sin (have you ever molotov'ed an AI tank?).
Long story short, we started off playing just cause pub was boring, having to wait for 4 pub duds to join after another round of ragequitters.
It turns out, that was our downfall. Playing competitively, while enjoyable, turned out to sap what fun was left in what had already begun to be bland and tiring. Not only was the game boring us, it became evident that we had less and less time to play matches as gaming was not one of our top priorities in life.
We'd like to thank those we have played, met a lot of new friends, and had a great heap of fun, minor exceptions due to kids bringing their high school ego's into the community.
Shoutouts go to the whole of Greek Alphabet Clan (especially Nug), for actually showing us that ladders existed for L4D; Bruce_C from [] for having a good old laugh, Mr_Fayce for all the laughs and vent rages, not to mention his promised sexual favours, and Crazy Bill Clan: Some of the nicest guys we've played in our short stint in CyberGamer.
Have fun, and we'll see you in Valve's up and coming failure, Left 4 Dead 2, where I'm sure I will be finding bugs faster than Zombie + Arseynimz can Band-Aid patch the rules.
