Hi guys
The Naruto:SG Ladder is now Live! Everyone can start challenging!
To begin with, we're going to run the initial first part of the season using the ELO rating system (a system which defines your rank and points). You can find out more info about the ELO rating system by looking at the text above the ladder, or visiting
this link.
The ladder will also be run on Turbo Mode. This is mostly because games will not take a great amount of time, so users may want to get a few matches done per night/many per week, rather than sit around waiting for 1 short match per week.
Both the ELO and Turbo modes will be on a 'trial basis'. We think it is going to be best for the ladder, but of course will review and make any necessary changes later down the track should the community push for such.
We're going to start out with basic rules, and develop those further as the short season progresses. Be sure to voice your concerns and suggestions in the relevant forum threads!
Current Rules: Click To View
Match length
The match consists of a 'best of 3, best of 3'. This means you will have 3 fights per round. There are 3 rounds (total max of 9 fights per match).
Example:
Round 1 = Player X wins 2 fights, Player Z wins 1 fight. Round 1 goes to Player X.
Round 2 = Player X wins 1 fight, Player Z wins 2 fights. Round 2 goes to Player Z.
Round 3 = Player X wins 2 fights, Player Z wins 1 fight. Round 3 goes to Player X
The match win goes to Player X, scored as 2-1
Map/Level Choice
The Defending team chooses the Map/Level for Rounds 1 and 3. The Attacking team chooses for Round 2. OR do it just randomly and sort it out between yourselves, as it doesn't really matter in the end on the map/level. If you disagree on random use or just can't agree at all between yourselves, use the first-mentioned system.
Characters
For the list of banned characters look here. You may use any character you like that IS NOT on that list. However, you must use the same character for each round. However, you can change character inbetween Rounds (just not inbetween fights). So you can use a maximum of 3 different characters over the 3 rounds. Of course, we'll look at restrictions and other methods for character choice further down the track.Support characters will also be allowed
Team Sizes
This is a 1v1 ladder. You may only have 1 player in your team. If this player leaves, the team is removed, no one can come in and take over your team. Instances where you have more than 1 player in your team, the non-founder will be removed and the team may face bans
Hosting
The Defending team hosts Round 1 and 3. The Attacking team hosts Round 2.
Host Check:
Host checks shouldn't really be necessary, but if you need to do one just play a round (that doesn't count towards the score) on the host and see if it is to your satisfaction.
Connection Issues
If a player has connection issues during the match that cause them to be dropped from the game the match should be ended at the next available opportunity.
If a player drops out they forfeit the Fight they dropped out in (they do not forfeit the entire round due to the drop-out).
Ladder Information
Challenges
- When challenging, the 'maps' are automatically generated between Defender's Choice and Attacker's Choice.
- As the ladder is in Turbo mode, you are able to offer times that are much closer to your current time than usual. Make use of this to play out more matches on the ladder!
- Once a challenge is made, the defender has 24 hours to accept the challenge, or the match will be forfeited.
- More info about the ELO Rating System can be found here, only a teams wins/losses/draws are used when calculating your ratings, a large/small score margin has no effect currently.
- A K-Index of 64 is used, starting rating of 1400 and score distribution of 400 is used.
- You can challenge teams that are within 300 of your ELO Rating above or below.
- Once your team gets to the top 10, you are only able to challenge teams that are in the top 30 places (as well as within 300 rating).
- If you win a defending match you are protected for 30m (no one will be able to challenge you).
- If you win a challenging match you are protected for 15m (no one will be able to challenge you).
- If you lose a defending match you are vulnerable for 15m (you will be unable to challenge).
- If you lose a challenging match you are vulnerable for 30m (you will be unable to challenge).
- You cannot play the same team twice in a row.
- Time given to accept a match: 24h

- Teams are able to challenge up to 3 teams at once.
*Teams can be challenged provided they are in less than 4 matches at once.
General Rules
Pre Game Lobby
Both players are expected to send friend requests and game invites to the opposition. If any players are having problems connecting to the game lobby then a new player should host the lobby.
Both teams have 20 minutes from the scheduled match time to get their team in the lobby and ready to begin the match. If either team is not ready to begin the match after the 20 minutes has passed then they will forfeit the match.
Teams may leave once one side has won the match, if they choose to do so, the team that leaves first will forfeit all of the remaining rounds/maps. Teams are encouraged to play out matches.
Party Chat
Party chat is not allowed to be used during clan matches. This applies to all matches played on the Cybergamer ladders.
Sportsmanship
Unsportsmanlike behavior will be dealt with at the discretion of a ladder administrator.
Abusive behaviour in-game and on the site will be dealt with at the discretion of a ladder administrator.
Making false/useless disputes will be dealt with at the discretion of a ladder administrator.
Disputes without evidence will be noted but further action is unlikely to occur.
Joining a team
All players must have their current valid xbox live gamertag linked to their profile in order to be eligible to play in a match. Only linked gamertags may be used for official CyberGamer matches. Until a current valid gamertag is linked to a players profile, they will remain ineligible to play in ladder matches.
Rosters
All players must be on the the team roster in order to compete in a Cybergamer match. If a player that is not enrolled on the team, or is ineligible, participates in a match the offending team will forfeit the match.
Ineligible statuses
- Banned (cannot play)
- Joined after challenge was accepted. (cannot play, unless evidence of an agreement has been made)
- No GT entered (cannot play, can if they add GT any time before the match starts)
- Silver Membership, usually a glitch (can play)
All players must have their current valid xbox live gamertag linked to their profile in order to be eligible to play in a match. Only linked gamertags may be used for official CyberGamer matches. Until a current valid gamertag is linked to a players profile, they will remain ineligible to play in ladder matches.
If ineligible players are used during a match without permission, the match will be forfeited.
Results Reporting
Matches should be recorded out of 3, i.e. 3-0, 2-1, 2-0 or 1-0 if a forfeit/cheating has occurred.
If you are dishonest and lie in a dispute, you will be match banned. If you deliberately enter the wrong score to be a nuisance, you will be match banned. Match bannings in disputes are not limited to the above, they also include abuse, racism and so forth to be dealt with at the discretion of the Ladder Administrators.
Teams being late to matches ~ 7/9/11
If a team was late to the match (over 20 minutes), the on-time team can choose to take the forfeit win. However, if the match was played at a later time anyway regardless of one team being late, and if it was played under a competitive environment (using the same rules as the ladder uses on CG) the win will be awarded to the team who won the match, whether or not they were on time. Again, the forfeit win will only be reverse if you play the match out after the allocated 20 minute time-frame (and the on-time team loses) - we will take this result as the final score unless there is evidence supporting that the match was a scrim or friendly match - evidence includes voice recording, XBL message, CG message or match chat/dispute post.
Cheating
Cheating is defined as, but not limited to, the following activities:
- Deliberately manipulating your connection, as the host or player.
- Using any settings that are restricted by the rulesets. Including perks or incorrectly setting up the game.
- Getting out of the boundaries of any map.
- Using a modified controller
- Playing in more than one team on a single ladder.
- Exploiting ingame mechanics i.e. wall-rub glitches
- Using 3rd party voice or text communications applications i.e. MSN, Ventrilo, Teamspeak etc
If you are unsure if something is classified as cheating or not it is up to you to check with an appropriate referee beforehand.
In all cases of cheating the burden of evidence falls on the accuser. All reports of cheating should be submitted directly to the appropriate Cybergamer referee with all evidence.
Claims of cheating made in the public forum are not acceptable and will be removed.
Evidence must be provided in the form of digital video, still capture or video screenshot. Whatever is applicable to the claim.
Continual unsubstantiated claims or claims involving falsified evidence will result in action being taken against the player making the claim. Claims made by "aliased" players will be disregarded.
To make a claim, tick the dispute box in prior to entering the result. Supply all your evidence in the dispute chat.
