hl2.exe has stopped working ..

hello you guys might know me as ASTRO other may know me as Neon
well i have had this problem with css for the past 4 days which have not allowed me to play css during the 4 days.
the problem occurs when i try to start css the little box saying css is starting then dissapears and an error box comes up saying hl2.exe has stopped working if anyone has any ideas on how to fix this please tell me. i have already tried reinstalling css and it has not helped.

Verify the integrity of your game cache (if you don't know how its, Library > Right click CSS > Properties > Local Data [i think] > Verify game cache). Not sure if this will help, also if you haven't already (before you verify) restart your PC and steam.
