MSI Summer Cup - Inteview Juzzk1d Team Immunity

Interview "Juzzk1d" iM.Intel

Q: With the MSI tournament kicking off with a relatively short timeframe from announcement to competition were you worried at all about the time you had to work with to prepare?

A: Reasonably worrried. Having to find a 5th player to fill the shoes of retired David "jor" Martin as well as rebuild on our strats and chemistry we have lost over our absence felt like quite the task before MSI kicked off. It was quite a shakey start at first, although I'd like to think we have gained some of the team work we had.

Q: Team Immunity was seeded #1 in the competition, do you feel this put alot of pressure on your guys?

A: Definetly, especially with the track record we have. However, I believe we have represented the number #1 seed respectivley and will try and defend that rank in any match we play.

Q: How much practice did you guys get in during the leadup and throughout the tournament? were you happy with the time the guys were able to commit to for preparation?

A: We only started practising as a team really 2 matches in during MSI when the games got a tad more serious. We have scrimmed a fair bit however hardly with the full team. In comparison to our previous preperation for events we haven't put in the dedication that I would have liked to. It has obviously been a disavantage however that being said it should not be ruled as an excuse despite what happens this up-coming sunday.

Q: Who do you feel was the biggest threat from your perspective as you were coming in the competition?

A: Definetly the two top competitor teams being seed #2 archaic and seed # fray. Although you never know how matches will turn out against teams like SQL and click so I really thought every team had a chance of knocking us off.

Q: There was alot of discussion about the old teams coming back and the newer teams complaining about your seedings, did this push you guys harder to silence the critics? or it didnt really bother you guys at all?

A: Straight off, I would much rather be called a 'has-been' than be a 'never-been' We didn't ask for this seeding spot, we were just played what we were given.

Look, There will always be teams that are not happy with seedings, matches, result etc. It's just something you got to deal with and in the end letting the results do all the talking. However, I'm very glad how all the matches panned out in the end.

Q: Was there a team you faced that really stood out to you? were alot stronger than you expected or came up with some prett...

MSI Summer Cup - Inteview Sensuki Archaic eSports

Had a quick interview with Sensuki about the finals and here is what he had to say:

Interview "Sensuki" Archaic.MSI

Q: So Sens, how do you feel about the team making it to the grand final?

A: Pretty good man. We actually thought the match vs Frenetic Array would be the toughest match in the competition, it was pretty tough as well, but we got there in the end. We're going to treat the grand final just the same, but we have absolutely no idea how it will play out.

Q: Were you initially concerned about whether the team could pull together in the short amount of time you had to prep for the tournament?

A: I was asked to join by Millah, nick' and TheOne, the lineup was a bit different at the time I was asked to join. After our original lineup didn't work we picked A.P from Sushi and Extacy from Encore. There were some massive concerns that the team wouldn't gel at all, but over time we've made it work, and I get along with everyone just fine. Scrims have been a walk in the park for a few weeks.

Q: There was alot of talk about the seedings do you feel vindicated now? was that motivation for your team to try harder in the comps leadup?

A: Sort of. The way I saw it there were 3 teams that had a chance of winning. iM, fray and us. The team who got 1st seed, would have the easiest run to the finals - which was iM. A lot of people seem to think fray would have beaten iM had they been in the same group. We justified our second seed though - the pressure was on for that.

Q: Ok straight up, what do you feel your strengths are going into the finals at the moment?

A: Our main strength vs Immunity is that we have all been playing the game while they have not. There will be stuff that we know that they will not, and we've barely played each other, so we may have the surprise advantage on them, or vice versa. (Oh and we have 3 players sporting CRT monitors ;))

Q: Were you suprised to see Team Immunity make it though? Who were you judging to be your toughest opponents in the whole tournament?

A: No surprise at all really. The first group was a really easy group. We had most of the harder teams.

Q: With the mix of new and old teams in the tournament who do you feel stood out to your team as one of the old ones as a new team that performed really well?

A: In the eyes of CGi Season 1 players: We'd probably be called a new team with geek nades and strats. In the eyes of anyone who came to CoD4 after CGi, we're probably a bunch of 'washed up old-school players' ;)

Q: Shoutout...

Cybergamer CoD4 Game Plan 2010

With Call of Duty 4 live and kicking again, Cybergamer is proud to bring you the CG Draft League for CoD4.

The draft league will be an open registration ladder and will cost $50 per team to compete (better value than $10 per player for teams with more than 5).

Registration will open on the 14th of March, and close on the 28th of March. The Competition will have a limit of 32 teams or 64 teams depending on interest.
Payment will open once there's 32 teams signed up. The Competition will only go ahead once there is 32 paid teams. First to pay, first into the competition.

Teams will then be then split into four groups with loose seeding based on performances from the MSI and Alienware Tournaments, CGo rankings and Team Activity, to give each group a fair mix of teams.

The Ladder will probably run for 8 weeks during the group stage. The four winners of the group stages will immediately receive $100 each. Finals are expected to be over by early July.

The competition will be knockout_mr12, use Promodlive 2.06 NA unless an updated promod is released, will use competition maps only unless someone actually develops a competitive custom map.

When the draft league is complete and if interest is still kicking, the best teams will be moved up to CGi, and a second season of the Draft ladder will commence. CGm may also run as well, depending on the game's activity.

During this time Cybergamer will also be running fun tournaments such as a Custom Maps Cup and perhaps another One Day Tournament.
