2 - Registration & Membership Accounts
2.1 - Register
To register at CyberGamer you must agree to follow the CyberGamer terms and conditions. Your registration information and profile information should be correct. Register here to join the CyberGamer community.
2.2 - Accounts
All Players are required to be a member of CyberGamer www.CyberGamer.com.au. Account names containing the following will not be tolerated: racism, abuse, drug use; these are all examples of unacceptable names. Players found with offensive names will have their name edited to something more appropriate by an admin. If a member is found to be using an account name that is deemed offensive after having it changed by an admin, that member will be issued a warning. If the rule is violated a second time, that member may be banned from the forums and/or matches.
Players are reminded that they may only operate one CG Account with one [1] SteamID and may only be apart of one [1] Counter Strike Source Team. You may not play for multiple teams in different divisions. A breaching this rule may result in account(s) suspension until breach is resolved by an admin.
3 - Player Requirements
3.1 - Information
Personal information submitted by each member for his or her profile must be accurate. Profiles, comments, names, or other information posted on the website deemed offensive to the general public will be edited, with possible member warnings.
3.2 - SteamID's
Your STEAM ID's are auto detected and added to your profile when you join a CyberGamer CSS server. They should appear in your profile after your first match, players are only allowed one SteamID. If any player is caught playing with a different SteamID, the player/team will face consequences. If you require a steam id change submit a support ticket, we will require reasons.
note: The CG Servers automatically scan and detect ip addresses. These addresses are then matched to Steam ID's and player accounts. Be sure the account that is created is registered by YOU and that you will be playing from your registered IP. Failure to adhere to this rule will result in the penalties detailed in section 6.3 & 6.4.
3.3 - Sportsmanship
Un-Sportsmanlike conduct during, prior or after matches will not be tolerated by CG. CyberGamer suggests that all teams conduct themselves accordingly. If a player or team is found guilty of unsportsmanlike conduct, punishments will be issued.
3.4 - Ingame alias
It would be appropriate for players to use the same ingame alias as their CG account. Inappropriate ingame alias' will not be tolerated: racism, abuse, drug use are all examples of unacceptable handles. Players found with offensive names will be contacted by the referee (if one is present) and asked to edit their name to something more appropriate. If a member is found to be using a handle that is deemed offensive after being asked to have it changed the referee, that member will be issued a warning. If the rule is violated a second time, that player may be removed from the match.
3.5 - Team Captains
The dedicated team captain has total control of his/hers team. The captain has the right to remove any player on his/her team. The team captain has an obligation to the other members on the team to behave and lead by example. The team captain is responsible for his teams behavior during CG matches.
3.6 - Captain Absences or Changes
In the event of a team captain being absent, an acting captain is responsible for the team. The acting captain is to be announced to the other team and referee to avoid confusion should a dispute arise.
3.7 - Mutiny
In the unlikely event of a mutiny, players can request to have the captain removed at any time. All requests must be sent to a senior admin and must contain the following information.
Team name:
Name of Capt (to be removed):
Name of Player to replace them as captian.
Your Alias and full name:
A reason for the request.
Over 75% of the current roster must submit this request in writing before any action will be taken by CG.
4 - Team Information
4.1 - Activation
To be an activated team the team must have a minimum of five [5] paid players (if applicable). Players must be on the team roster prior to the first round of the event. Once registration is complete the team must wait for the event to begin.
4.2 - Team Rosters
CG require all teams to have a five [5] player roster. For the CGo Ladder you can only use players that are currently registered for CyberGamer and those who are eligible to play on your roster. For the CG Leagues you can only use players that are currently registered for CyberGamer and those players who have joined your roster in a roster unlock period(rule 4.3). Captains who allow the players, and the players that play in the match which are not CG registered OR in team roster marked as ineligible to play, OR joined a team outside the roster unlock period may face bans and have the match result overturn.
CyberGamer would prefer a minimum of a six [6] player roster, but at this stage will not enforce this rule. Rosters will have a limit of eight [8] players for CG: A, M, I, Open will be unlimited. Turning up to matches without at least four [4] players will be penalised with a forfeit or as the admin panel deem necessary. Continually breaking this rule will lead to suspension and possibly removal from the CG event.
4.3 - Roster Changes - Does not apply to open
The limit of roster changes is 50% your original roster - a total of three [3] players can be added during the season. Rosters will be unlocked until round one of the competitions. Rosters will unlock once a week remaining open for 24 hours. At 10pm on Sunday the rosters will unlock and will be locked again at 10pm Monday. This will be the only time you can change your team for the leagues. The only exception to the roster unlock period is when the competition finals begin [see 4.4]. This does not apply to Open, these teams can change as much as they like as long as players are eligible to play the match. Players can not be added or removed from a roster during the lock period without an Administrators approval and only in circumstances such as:
* The opposition teams captain agrees to the player(s) being added AND it has been approved by an administrator
* If a team loses a player which leaves them short of the minimum needed to participate. Just because a team loses a player does not mean an administrator will allow the adding another player to the roster
You cannot play for a lower division if you are currently playing in a higher division unless the admin team decide otherwise. This also includes playing in CGo (this is definite). If you play for a team in any of the invite comps you cannot play in CGo.
4.4 - Permanent Roster Lock
Once a competition enters its permanent roster lock period NO PLAYERS will be allowed to join or leave a team. Exceptions will only be made for extreme circumstances which include but are not limited to natural disasters and death. If a team cannot field the required number of players to participate in a finals match, a roster addition maybe be allowed but only with the approval of every teams captain participating in the finals.
4.5 - Team Name
Team names containing any of the following will not be tolerated: profanity, racism, sexism, drug use, silly or too big in size. Teams found to be breaking this rule will have it changed to something more appropriate by an admin. If a team is found to be using a team name that is deemed offensive after having it changed by an admin, that team will be issued a warning. If the rule is violated a second time, that team may be removed from the event and no refund will be issued.
4.6 - Hijacked Teams
For a team to not be considered HIJACKED 60% of the original roster must play each match which is three [3] of five [5]. The original roster is taken from the roster during the first round of matches. CyberGamer reserves the right to determine if any team is .HIJACKED. and to remove any team that falls within these guidelines. If your team is experiencing internal issues and extreme roster lineup changes, the admin team must be notified. This does not apply to open league.
5 - Player Responsibilities
5.1 - EAC - EAC Setup Guide
All players participating in any CyberGamer CSS event including our MEGA Comp style events are required to run EAC. Please see the EAC Setup Guide for more information. Note that you will be unable to remian in the server if you do not have EAC running.
Making sure EAC is running before the match is the responsibility of the player. Matches will not be held up or overturned because of EAC problems unless it is a global issue. It is recommended you check EAC is loading correctly at least 1 hr prior to your lo3 so you cant contact an admin for assistance if you run into troubles.
5.2 - POV
All players in every CG league MUST record Point of View demoes. This is COMPULSORY and teams are to hold them for at least one [1] week after their match. Matches can be overturned for failing to do so and/or the offending player/s banned. Relying on sourceTV is not acceptable. Not knowing how to record is not an excuse. To record a point of view (PoV) type: record "nameofmatch" in console. An administrator may request a player or teams demo at any time, whether or not a dispute has been put forward. Not complying with administrators request can be grounds for a temporary ban against the player in question or a forfeit of the match, depending on the circumstances.
6 - Game Play Requirements
6.1 - Information
A Match consists of two [2] fifteen [15] round halves for ALL divisions plus any needed overtime rounds required in order to determine a winner. A match is considered "COMPLETE" once one team wins sixteen [16] rounds.
6.2 - Match Start Time
A team will have till five (5) minutes past the starting time to get the minimum four (4) required players into the match server. The Lo3 MUST commence within five (5) minutes of the match starting time. The other team may request an additional five (5) minutes to get their 5th player into the server and you are free to grant that as you wish. If a match starts after this period of time action will be taken in disputes over start time.
It is recommended that you join the server at least ten (10) minutes before your match time. If the server is not up ten (10) minutes prior you must notify an admin. (See rule 9.1)
6.3 - Minimum Players / No Show / Forfeit
You must have a minimum of four (4) players in the server at the designated time of your match. If you don't have a minimum of four [4] players to start the match at the designated time on your match page, then your team will forfeit the match as you cannot start with 3 or less, unless your opponent grants you an additional five (5) minutes to get your players in. In the event of a no show or forfeit, it is required of teams to take a console status screenshot of their steamIDs. The screenshot must include the time; type thetime into chat before you do status in console.
6.4 - Smurfing
Smurfing is using a player/s from another team's roster and punishments may be handed out to both the team and the offending player/s. Players can also show up as smurfing if using a different steam account or playing from another location from where they originally registered. The team captain needs to notify the admins of changes in location prior to a match. Failing to do so the player will show as smurfing and will be treated as one unless sufficient evidence can prove otherwise. If a team is caught using smurfing player/s, they will automatically forfeit that match and the smurf & captain will be banned..
6.5 - Using Non Registered Players
Teams can not use non-registered players, ineligible players are considered not registered. Using a player who is not registered is considered a violation. If a team is caught using a non-registered player/s, they will automatically lose that match (the match will be overturned if the team that won the match was guilty).
6.6 - Suspended Players
Suspended players who play in a match will have their match ban increased or permanently banned from all CG servers.
6.7 - Global Chat
Teams may NOT use global chat (mm1) DEAD or ALIVE during a live ladder match unless talking to the referee/admin about specific issues. (i.e server lag, substitutions etc). Failure to abide by this rule will result in an MM1 warning, 3 warnings = 3 rounds taken off your teams score, and 3 rounds taken off for every other mm1 warning. 5 warnings = team forfeit. (this does NOT include: before Lo3, half time break or after the match).
mm1: message mode 1 = global chat
mm2: message mode 2 = team chat - unrestricted
6.8 - Player Dropouts / Connections
Player connections are solely the responsibility of the individual. Should an issue arise regarding widespread connection problems to the server, then the referee will inform both teams that the match is either canceled or postponed. If there is no referee in game then one team captains of the match will make a dispute and the match will rescheduled. Rescheduling of matches will be done so through the communication of both team captains in regards to their availability and dependent upon prior bookings made on CG servers. If the match is played out scores will stand if either team disputes for server problems, to reschedule you must not play the match and put in a dispute.
Once a match has gone live (i.e. lo3 has occured), should a team drop to 3 players in the server they have four (4) minutes from the moment the player leaves the server to get a 4th player back. If the fourth player or substitute player making up the fourth player, has not entered the match within the 4 minutes, the team forfeits the match. Any teams dropping to two (2) or one (1) players during Lo3 will automatically forfeit. Any problems arising due to connection issues are the sole responsibility of the players
All players should have less then 150 Ping. If three [3] of your players have more than this then you forfeit the match unless the other team specifically allows the match to go ahead. Once the match starts the team can't dispute due to high pings.
6.9 - Capped Rates
Capped rates will not be allowed for any match; minimum rates: rate 20000; cl_cmdrate 66; cl_updaterate 66
6.10 - Player Substitutions
Teams are allowed to make substitutions at any stage of the match. The player coming in must wait until the player he is replacing has left. A failure to acknowledge this will have repercussions for the offending team. Only eligible players from the same team may serve as substitutions.
6.11 - Players Leaving Early
All players are expected to remain in the server until the conclusion of the final round of the match. Leaving a match early is considered unsportsmanlike conduct and, at the discretion of CG admins, suspensions may be issued if repeated or egregious violations occur. If an entire team leaves the server prior to conclusion of the match, any remaining rounds will be forfeited, including the current unfinished round.
7 - Match Environment
7.1 - Models / Skins
All players are required to use default Counter-Strike: Source skins (player, weapon, grenade, bomb, etc). If any player or team is caught using non-standard models or skins during a league match or event, it will be considered an infringement of CG rules. This will result in a player and team penalty.
7.2 - Graphical Settings
All players are required to use the 32bit video setting. All other currently legal console generated commands and settings are not a violation of the rules. If a player is found using any 3rd party/ other applications/ opengl32 files, this will result in immediate player and possibly team termination.
7.3 - Sprites
All Players are required to use default sprites (players, smoke, weapons, and crosshairs). If any player or team is caught using non-standard sprite during a league match or event, it will be considered an infringement of CyberGamer rules and will results in a player and team penalty.
7.4 - Custom Sprays
The use of custom sprays is not acceptable in any league match. However, the severity of the punishment will vary depending on the content of the spray. Sprays that contain pornographic content, racial content, unsportsmanlike content, replicated models, features or textures will lead to harsher penalties. Nevertheless, the use of any spray will be considered a violation of the rules, and penalties and punishments will be given.
7.5 - Outside Applications
Using outside applications to manipulate, change or alter Counter-Strike: Source gaming environment is a major offense. This will result in the immediate suspension/ban of a player and/or team and will be considered a cheating violation. This will most likely lead to an extended or sometimes permanent ban from all CyberGamer events.
8 - Exploits
8.1 - Clipping
Clipping is the process of boosting through any solid object or layer, or when a particular team or single player can successfully see over, under, through, any solid object, layer or entity. CyberGamer determines clipping as a major offense. Violations will results in reversal of rounds, suspension of the players involved, and other penalties & punishments deemed necessary from the admin panel.
8.2 - Map Exploits
Using any exploits or map glitches to gather an advantage over the opposition (e.g. clipping), will lead to a player/team penalties.
8.3 - Boosting
Boosting other players [2 players] to an intended spot created by the map maker is considered completely legal and encouraged by CG. However, any spot that is achieved by three [3] or more players or any form of projectile boosting such as flash-boosting/super-boosting is considered illegal. Any players or teams found performing illegal boosts will face punishments.
8.4 - Illegal Bomb Plants
It is violation to plant the bomb in places where it is impossible to defuse the bomb. THIS INCLUDES PLACES WHERE AN ENTITY WILL BLOCK THE BOMB. Other illegal bomb plants include;
* Floating Bomb Plant - The bomb must be physically touching the ground or an entity.
* Silent Bomb Plant - It is a violation to plant the bomb, where it will make no sound.
The CG admin panel will determine if a situation falls into the category of an illegal bomb plant. Penalties will include reversal of a round, players and possibly team punishments.
8.5 - Illegal Defuses
A part of the bomb must be in full screen view to be considered a legal defuse. It is illegal to defuse through any solid object or entity. Any players or teams caught defusing a bomb illegally will face round reversal and possible suspension. The CyberGamer admin panel will determine what falls under the category of an illegal defuse.
8.6 - Bunny-hopping
Bunny hopping is not permitted on the CyberGamer system, this refers to any repeated jumping action that has the intention of accelerating an individuals speed to faster than that of the default running speed.
Round Reversal if necessary will be used against a player or team breaking this rule where ever any distinguishable advantage has been gained intentionally. Three (3) round reversals against any player or team will result in a one (1) to (two) week match ban.
There are however some exceptions to this rule, as follows:
Air-Strafing to reach a specific area where an extended jump is required is allowed ONLY if the intended strafe or hop is to reach a specific map location where it is required and not to gain a speed advantage in any way shape or form in regards to traveling around the map. Extended Jump Example: Big Yellow (de_nuke)
If for any reason you should feel unsure or in any way do not understand this rule in its entirety please contact and administrator immediately in regards to your query.
8.7 - Cheats / Hacking
Is the process of manipulation of server configurations, client, model, skins, entities, textures, weapon, sounds, or anything that illegally changes the settings listed within CyberGamer Rules. Hacks include wall hacks, aim bots, speed hacking, ESP, or any other third party program. Cheats / Hacking will results in a permanent ban from ALL CyberGamer events. If the player found guilty of hacking in a paid league there is a possibility that the team maybe removed from playing any further matches and matches where the guilty player has played for that season will be overturned (unless found player was not cheating for that match).
9 - Servers
9.1 - Sever Not Setup (Bad Password)
Servers come up fifteen (15) minutes prior to your scheduled match time. The Lo3 MUST commence at the time on your match page. It is recommended that you join the server at least ten (10) minutes before your match time. If the server is not up ten (10) minutes prior you must notify an admin. (rule 6.2) IF a server is not up ten (10) minutes before starting time go to http://www.cybergamer.com.au/support and submit a support ticket. Including your match URL, team name and issue (being 'Server is showing bad password'). Alternatively you can use IRC to PM an admin. Don't PM on the website as it is too slow. Typing in team chat there is a problem is not good enough. Contact an Admin and then update team chat about how you did so. CG matches cannot be played on servers outside the CyberGamer network. Any matches played on 3rd party servers will be voided.
9.2 - Crashes
In the event of a server crash:
- If under four [4] rounds have been played, the half is restarted.
- If four [4] or more rounds have been played, the half is restarted but the score retained.
- If the server doesn't come up make a dispute about it and the match will be void or replayed.
If there is a referee (or an admin) they will inform the relevant teams that the match has been canceled, postponed or moved to another server. Communication with team captains is crucial, and we would appreciate if teams were idling #CyberGamer @ Gamesurge.net should any issue arise. CyberGamer will seek to inform players ASAP of all server and connectivity conditions.
9.3 - Problems
Should an issue arise regarding widespread connection problems to the server (example lag), then the referee will inform both teams that the match is either canceled or postponed. If there is no referee in game then both teams must agree that there is widespread connection problems(screenshot agreement), and then one of the team captains of the match will make a dispute and the match will rescheduled. If both teams do NOT agree that there are widespread connection issue at play, then the match is to played out and disputed afterward. Admins will review Server Logs, PoV demos and SrcTV to determine if the issue is widespread or local. Rescheduling of matches will be done so through the communication of both team captains in regards to their availability and dependent upon prior bookings made on CG servers.
10 - Disputes
10.1 - Player/ Team Disputes
Disputes made in regards to an individual or team actions during a match should be made AFTER the completion of the match.
10.2 - Dispute Process
All disputes made by members of the leagues will be attended not necessarily resolved within a time frame of one [1] day. We endeavor to make the decisions as quick and as conclusive as possible, but teams/players need to recognize the workload that exists for admins. Teams are not to contact/ hassle administrators by private message or any other means unless requested by an administrator. If you can't wait for administrators to resolve the dispute patiently then DO NOT dispute the match and/or take the loss. EVERYTHING IS SAID AND KEPT IN THE DISPUTE.
Note that should any dispute arise while the match is LIVE, players/teams will be told to COMPLETE the match as normal. A review of what happened can be made after an official dispute is lodged after the match has been completed. CG admins have the final say on the matter. Unless a team can shed new evidence in regards to their dispute, then there is no appeal process available to teams.
10.3 - Dispute Submission
A dispute made by a team will only become official when the captain of that team lodges an official dispute. When making a dispute please make it as understandable as possible and have evidence if applicable.Players are not allowed to make individual disputes themselves, and these will be ignored. All disputes a team may have must be lodged by the designated team captain.
10.4 - Evidence
Submit all evidence relevant, administrators should not have to ask. All teams that are requested to submit information/evidence are expected to do so within twenty-four [24] hours.
10.5 - Discussion of Disputes
Discussion of disputes is STRICTLY forbidden to the admins of CyberGamer only. All things can be said in the dispute DO NOT go PM'ing or IM'ing administrators. If the administrators decide further evidence is needed, a request will be made to the relevant team to submit their POV demos. Source TV demos will also be used.
11 - Choosing Teams
11.1 - Teams (Open)
At the start of each match the team that issued the challenge receives first pick at which side they wish to commence on. Alternatively, and only if both teams agree, this decision can be made through a process of a knives only round, with the team that wins getting the first pick. If a team runs away to avoid being killed before the time runs out the chasing team wins the knife round.
11.1 - Teams (A, M, I)
At the start of each match teams will have a knife round to decide who gets first pick at which side they start on. If a team runs away to avoid being killed before the time runs out the chasing team wins the knife round.
12 - Challenging / Defending
12.1 - Challenging numbers(Open)
A team can only challenge an opponent
half their own rank or four [4] places higher than themselves, whichever is greater. For example: a team ranked 38th can challenge up to a team that is ranked 19th. A team may not play the same team in two successive matches* - seven [7] days after the first match the ladder will allow you to challenge them again.
12.2 - Challenging deadline(Open)
Upon receiving a notice of challenge, the team has TWO [2] days to accept a time and date provided by the challenger for the match, otherwise it is deemed that the defendant has forfeited.
12.3 - Defending (Open)
If a team successfully defends their position, the ladder automatically grants a protected status for FORTY-EIGHT [48]hours, awarding immunity from challenges.
12.4 - Statuses(Open)
Challenging and winning will leave you with a normal status of "free". If you lose a "Challenging" match you will become "vulnerable" for FORTY-EIGHT [48] hours where you will be unable to challenge. If you lose a "Defending" match you will become "vulnerable" for TWELVE [12] hours where you will be unable to challenge. If you do not accept a challenge or you decline the challenge you will become "vulnerable" for FORTY-EIGHT [48] hours where you will be unable to challenge.
12.5 - Submitting Scores (Open)
Following a match, it is crucial that each team must submit the result or select to dispute the match by 11:30PM AEST on the night of the match. Subsequently, the submitted results will be calculated and the teams will be granted either challengeable or protected statuses. Disputes can be handled among the two teams; otherwise an administrator takes appropriate action.
12.6 - Referees (Open)
There are referees in CyberGamer matches and will join matches at their own discretion.
12.6 - Gamestah (Open)
