XiN Gaming HoN Tournament
Xin Gaming is proud to present it's first ever 2v2 Tournament for Heroes of Newerth in collaboration with S2 Games (The developers of Savage 2 and Heroes of Newerth), Split Reason, Rude Gamewear, eDimensional, Cyber Snipa and X-Oxide. Xin Gaming is a new professional multi-gaming organization with it's admins based right here in Australia and it's member base stretching right across the globe.
For those of you who have not heard of Xin Gaming already brace yourselves for you will be seeing them having their fingers in a little bit of everything in the near future. They have many online events in the works including a Starcraft 2 tournament and will be holding many events at various internet cafe's in Melbourne. They don't stop there, Xin Gaming is also currently looking for exceptionally good players to join the ranks for their teams in Heroes of Newerth, Starcraft 2, Guild Wars 2 and are most likely going to have a team for Bad Company 2, Call of Duty 4, and Dota.
Xin has also stated that the increase in popularity for console sports has them highly considering starting teams in games such as Tekken, Street Fighter and Blazblue. It seems like the possibilities are endless for Xin Gaming and it's entrepreneurial administration team.

The prize will be $300 USD, thanks to S2 Games. CyberGamer may also have some additional prizes to distribute on top of this, though this is yet to be confirmed.
This is an Asia-Pacific tournament, teams from anywhere in the world are encouraged to play in this tournament, but CyberGamer must advise that Asia-Pacific teams will have a time zone preference, unless something else can be arranged between the two teams. We advise you do not partake if you are unable to accommodate to different time zones, as this will waste everyones time and lead to disqualification from the tournament. I'm sure this will not cause many problems for those hardcore teams that really want to win this thing.
Organising times via your match page is the best and the most recommended way of organising times as this reduces the chance of problems occurring.
Admins have the right to disqualify any teams that failed to contact their opposing team or that do not meet the rounds deadline. This in turn, results in a forfeit loss.
Teams have approximately five days (no longer) to decide between each other on what time and date they would be willing to play.
Team captains are required to submit there match ID in the appropriate thread: CyberGamer S2Games HoN Replay Archive:
with the following details: 'Game Letter - Round - Team 1 Vs. Team 2 - Match ID'.

The Ballad of HoN and DotA
Aeon of Strife (commonly referred to as AoS), was the style of game which blended RTS, RPG and, perhaps most importantly, teamwork. It has been attempted and failed by many map makers in Warcraft III, but when it was right, boy, it was right. Defense of the Ancients (DotA) was not the first AoS style map to hit the Warcraft III community, but it is clearly the most successful to date. As many of you would have no doubt noticed by now, S2 Games has released Heroes of Newerth (HoN), an almost identical copy of DotA, but standing on its own engine - not that of Warcraft III. The pros and cons of both games will be discussed, along with DotA and HoN's game's game play engines, competitive play capabilities and communities. Last, but by no means least, is the Riot Games title 'League of Legends' (LoL). This game was hyped up long before HoN, as Eul and Pendragon, two of the most important figures in the creation and promotion of DotA, are key figures in LoLs production.
HoN's online play is greatly improved from what was ever possible in DotA. For years, it was incredibly difficult to play against teams from other sides of the world in DotA, until the introduction of programs like DotA Client, Listchecker and of course, Garena. Even with these programs, there is still a large amount of bickering between teams trying to find hosts (with the search, dispute and host testing often taking much, much longer than the game itself). HoN's innovative new hosting system allows users from Australia to connect to European and American hosts and feel very little to no delay. Compare this to joining a random public DotA game on a Battle.net server, like U.S. West, where the delay is upwards of 2-3 seconds, this is an amazing strength of the game for online play, and regardless of your like or dislike for HoN, this must be credited as a huge improvement to DotA (and Warcraft III's Battle.net for that matter).
DotA has long been troubled in the most prolific e-Sports tournament, the World Cyber Games (WCG). While it is played at the Asian World Cyber Games, the larger, more popular event has never had DotA as a gaming discipline. It gives the same reason over and over; it is not a standalone game.
