After a few rumours were leaked about a possible new league coming for L4D2, we can now confirm that this is true. Cybergamer is proud to welcome you to the new L4D2 Mutation League. We will be running short 6 week leagues, where the game mode will change after that 6 weeks. With 6 teams in each bracket, this means that each of the 5 mains maps gets played once, and each teams plays each other once. The final week will see the top 2 teams of each bracket play off in a final. A draft schedule has been written up, and will be posted once enough teams have signed up and have been placed in to their brackets. We have written up a quick FAQ in regards to this league:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What gametype will this league be?
The league will be rotating gametype each league season. Initially, the league will be running Realism Confogl Versus. To make this even more of a challenge, T2 weapons will be disabled, and a few other little options are currently being decided upon. After that, it is looking likely that the second season will be Scavenge, using the Revox mod. After that, we are looking at a few options, and are also happy to hear your suggestions.
How do I add my team to this league?
View the league page here:
and select the "Join Ladder" green button. From there, in the middle of the options, you will have the option to "clone" a team. Select this and then select your L4D2 ladder team. This will then create your team in the mutation league waiting pool. Players on your team will be invited to this team, and not automatically accepted, so remind them to check their notification bar at the bottom of the CG page.
How do I challenge a team in this league?
The league is run differently to a ladder. Matches will be set up for you weekly. The league will be based on a win/loss ratio, with points for and against coming in to play if needed. As said, matches will be set up each week by the admins, and games MUST be played that week. If a team makes no effort to assist in setting the match up, or playing it, they will forfeit that week.
How have the teams been put in to brackets?
The admins have decided on a maximum 24 team league. This league is split up in to four six team brackets. The teams in the "invite" bracket are teams the admins have decided on being the most competitive, and have been chosen on a variety of criteria, including current ladder pos...
L4D2 Mutation League Announced!
L4D1 Ladder Gets Custom'd
Thats right! It is finally here, the three new custom maps are ready to go. After a just a little over a year of rotating between No Mercy, Dead Air, Blood Harvest and even Death Toll of late, the L4D team are kicking a bit of spice back in to the L4D ladder with three custom maps: City 17, Suicide Blitz & Death Aboard. However, that is not all. Someone from Bogl must have some burning ears, as we are bringing in the Rotoblin mod. For those unsure of the mod, it is an infected dream. No auto shotgun or assault rifle what so ever. No med packs at all. Bring on the low scoring matches! Here is a little run down of the maps.
City 17:
Fans of the Half Life series will quickly feel some nostalgia in this L4D campaign. [del]Gordan [/del] The survivors must pass through the burning city whilst fighting of all the infected. The first map is a small tight tunnel leading to the carpark. Lots of cars for a 20-60% tank to hit, with multiple area's to launch a quad from. The second maps will survivors pass through a multi-story car park crescendo before heading to a daunting NM3 like ladder and then off to a very familiar elevator crescendo area (yes, 2 in one map!) that still gives me nightmares of little spiders everywhere. Map 3 is where the hunter fun begins - a huge selection of huge rooftops to pounce from, many 25's will ensue. Map 4 is where the impossible comes in. Any team that makes it across both aerial bridges needs some sort of achievement on their own. Map 5 will see the survivors attempt to get out of the city on a train. Good luck!
Suicide Blitz:
A No Mercy esque start to the map will have fans of that map loving the elevator and apartment area. Once out of the apartment though, it is a big open city, with many high roofs for hunters to get their damage on. There are also some nice pull back spots that smokers could potentially shine in. Maps 2 and 3 both have a mixture of outside and underground area's, all of which are going to prove deadly - none other than another NM3 styled ladder. The end of map 4 is going to be a very sacrificial one for the survivors, my bet is that at least someone HAS to die. The finale sees the survivors in a football stadium, awaiting a helicopter rescue. The start of the finale though, it is possible to get a 100 damage pounce with the cap off. Huge area.
Death Aboard:
Arguably the most popular custom map of L4D, this well made and polished map is a real test of the survivors skill. A mostly indoor map 1 is not as much of a cakewalk as you would think, with possible i...
