Well after having a bit of a chat to EA about MOH i organised a bit of a community interview where you guys get to ask about the full release including anything you dont like based on the beta or what you want to know about the full version. So what id like you guys who are interested in the game and more importantly you guys who are on the fence because of the beta to do is fire up questions you would like to ask the dev team.
Try to keep them short and to the point and what ill do is collect them up then fire them off to EA where we can hopefully get some good answers back and of course hopefully some changes will come into play before the full release.
Ill start it off with a question:
Q: With the multiplayer BETA one of the more notable aspects was all the floating paper debris, while this was a pretty engine feature it greatly distracts you when playing and trying to focus. Has this been noted in beta feedback and something thats likely to change on full release?
MOH Ask the Devs - Community Interview
Quick MOH BETA Review
First Impression:
Wow, as a BF COD and CSS player (cod the least) i found the game to be very very responsive, FPS was 2.5x higher than BFBC2 but im assuming thats due to the lack of fragmented destructable objects in the maps which didnt bother me at all. IT RUNS SMOOTH.
The gun sounds are somewhat dull and muted which didnt bother me in the slightest, there wasnt some horrid muzzleflash you cant see through and the rego....oh my god the rego...i have a known bad net connection and it was so refreshing to be getting major hits on what i aimed at instead of 1hit1miss.
Is there recoil? not that i can see and if there is its negligible but i think thats counterbalanced with the fact that it takes a good 5 chest hits to down someone so the kills still come fast and its purely speed and accuracy wins which is never going to bother me.
The grenades are good, they arent ultra splash and if anything i was throwing them in streets to make a brief smoke cloud so i could cross. They fly slow through the air so you can avoid them as its easy to see them coming so they are more tactical than overpowered.
Downsides?
About the only one i could really notice was the trash flying around in the air, i move around ironsighted 80% of the time and all that free floating debris is something of a pain with the ironsights as your eyes are constantly flickering towards movement thats floating debris.
Was it fun?
God yes, the gameplay was fluid and dynamic, there are alot of objects on the maps so you need to be very focused as you move around and you really have to look around constantly as the enemies can be anywhere. The map designs are good they are complex but also structured so you can still go ok, we are now spawning in this region my choke points are here here and here.
It will be interesting to see how the MP game modes pan out but from all objective perspectives this game was made just as much for comp play as it was for pub gaming.
8/10

Multiplayer Overview
We are introduced to Patrick Liu, Producer for MOH Multiplayer at DICE and he starts off quickly with an emphatic "This is NOT a reskin of Battlefield Bad Company 2!" and so with that, we get the quick list:
* Multiplayer is 24 players per map
* There will be dedicated servers
* This is an enhanced Frostbite engine (enhanced to do what MOH needed)
* Platforms are Xbox 360, PS3 and PC
* Featuring a SPECTATOR mode to assist tournament play and observation (but still takes up a player slot in game)
* Improved hit box (arms and body are separate) and while sprinting the head IS in the hit box (aka skeletal hit box)
* Faster bullets (muzzle velocity is more real world accurate)
* Accuracy is increased due to line of sight acquisition and lack of bullet physics to impact ballistic performance (put the sight on the target and thats where the round is going)
One mention of a skills system came up briefly but in less detail than I would have liked but due to time constraints we moved on. The impression I had with the Skill System was that players would get 'skill points' which would be independent of leveling up. Patrick Liu characterized this as "If you're getting schooled by a low level player you can look at their skill points and if that skill is high you're likely dealing with a skilled player and NOT a cheat" – We shall see.
What we saw here was a team clearly trying to take what they learned from BFBC2 and push the envelope as well as look at the realism that MOH reboot is looking. We were reassured that while you will see some elements that have that telltale BFBC2 feel, you are not going to think you're just playing with a revamped engine and so they pushed us right into seats to play for ourselves.
Multiplayer Gaming
The group broke into PC and Console (Consolers would play on XBOX 360 machines while PC players enjoyed a triple wide screen ATI Eyefinity visual feast.
The two playable maps we were able to play were carefully chosen to show off both open terrain combat as well as close quarter's city space.
Helmand Valley: Combat Mission
* Objective Based – Take positions, roadblocks etc to advance the mission
* High Tactical Usage – fire and maneuver, cover, flanking distances all seem attainable
* Rich environmental feel – Backgrounds, color, detail and texture all there from the single player
* Drivable Bradley fighting vehicle needs to be...
Medal of Honor Beta Information
To get into the beta (for the moment) you need to pre-order Medal of Honor from selected retails to start playing on 21/6/2010, if you pre-order and have Bad Company 2 VIP status then you can get early access starting on 17/6/2010.
Where do I sign up?
Best place to start is to sign up to or if you haven't already, use your BC2 account if you have one. Next step is to get a beta key. The fastest way to get a beta key is to pre-order from Steam (you can cancel your pre-order later if you don't like it, at-least you used to be able to) or to pre-order a EA Digital copy.
Gameplay Videos
Game-play is basically Modern Warfare 2 mixed with the Bad Company 2 Engine, I'm pretty sure there's going to be no prone in the game, lets hope the movement isn't as slow as BC2.
